You should run ./configure --help to get a list of the available
configuration options; shared memory is one of the extensions which
doesn't get compiled in by default.
shanna% ./configure --help | grep "shared memory"
--enable-sysvshm Enable the System V shared memory support
BTW, I've deleted your note; the errata notes system isn't the place
to ask questions. You'll typically get much faster responses by
posting them to the PHP mailing list at php-general@lists.php.net. The
manual errata system is intended for submissions of text to be
included in the manual, not as a question-and-answer forum. Nobody
really reads the manual errata looking for questions to answer,
whereas the list is read by thousands. :) Please make sure to read the
instructions at http://www.php.net/manual/add-note.php before
adding
another note.
