For escaping the characters under a Windows system, you must use double backslashes:
date("M jS, \\a\\t Y g:ia T");
Also note that using 'T' will not print the timezone in the GMT, CET etc. format. It can
print something like this: W. Europe Standard Time
This was discover under PHP 4.2.1,
might work differently on other versions.
