If you use forms and sessions (as I often do) and have use_trans_sid enabled, PHP will produce code
that is not XHTML 1.1 compliant (it may be non other standard compliant too - i haven't checked
yet). This is because, right after the FORM tag, it inserts its PHPSESSID hidden field. To be
compliant, it should be in a P tag (or DIV etc).
So, if you're an avid standards supporter (as we all should be), you need to disable
use_trans_sid.
I did this with:
ini_set('session.use_trans_sid',false);
at the start of my scripts.
Tested on RedHat 7.3 with PHP 4.2.3
