note 28823 added to security.registerglobals

hi, i have a question. i am somewhat new at php scripting. i'm running php on abyss web server x1 and i have rewritten the parts of the php.ini file that need rewriting; everything seems to work fine. however, when i try to use the urlencode option for a form that i am testing, no combination of $_GET variables in the action script will allow me to refill the fields back into the form with the same answers just given by the user. it DOES work, though, when i use the extract($_REQUEST) function. i am wondering why this is. if anyone can offer an explanation please email me at my posted address rpdaly@engineering.uiowa.edu .
