curl cannot be compiled into php when ssl is enabled as it causes problems on shared hosting
machines.
I am not sure if its a bug on php or in curl itself.. When you have it compiled in on a shared
machine it causes apache to crash.
I have tested with PHP 4.2.3 and the lasted curl lib.
