questions about cookies:
a) anyone else notice that if you set the cookie lifetime to something less than 90 it doesn't
hold session? i read in an ASP web development book (or maybe javascript) that a cookie expiration
doesn't go lower than 90, and if it's set below 90 than it automatically defaults to 90. i
understand that php's cookie lifetime directive is just for the php application, but im
wondering if it's typical.
b) how come a cookie's lifetime is up after the programmed time after the cookie is created??
wouldn't it be more practical for php to track the cookie's lifetime by how long it's
been since after the last cookie read (rather than when the cookie was written to)? otherwise,
i'll have to keep writing to the cookie to expire '90 more seconds' after every page
read.
