note 28954 added to ref.mail

Hi all. I hope someone can help me out with this problem i have. I am trying to use the mail() function on a redhat sytem, but have had no luck as yet. I only just managed to configure sendmail to use an external MAIL server to send outgoing mail, from the cmd line on that system. However, the mail comes from the root user of the computer that is the authoritive address for the domain i am on. IE, my machine is clogz.blah.com but the email comes from root@chief.blah.com. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ONLY FOR COMMAND LINE MAIL. I still am unable to see why the mail() function is not working, i have tried the solutions above, including the Queue solving one, and trying different versions of the mail() calls.
