The PHP manual notes are not the place to ask support questions.
Please read http://www.php.net/manual/add-note.php before
posting another
note.
The best place for this question is the php-db mailing list.
You can join this list by sending mail to php-db-subscribe@lists.php.net.
From your description of the problem, it sounds like PHP was not compiled
with MySQL support.
