note 29040 added to install.windows

i have tried to install PHP 4.x on apache 1.3.x several times on several machines. the PHP documentation is poor but i did the best i could, and it never works. it always says Cannot remove module mod_php4.c if anyone can tell me what to do i would appreciate it. here's what i did copied all dlls to c:\winnt\system32 (system folder) added these 2 lines to apache's httpd.conf: LoadModule php4_module c:/php/sapi/php4apache.dll AddType application/x-httpd-php .php this is really frustrating. i can't believe that a project as large and mature as php would have such a crappy install process. but i guess you get what you pay for. -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.php http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+29040 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+29040 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+29040
