To deal with the "Output Line too long" (on Solaris 8) that occurs when doing a make, I
elected to do the following.
./configure <blah> --without-mysql <blah>
This removed a tonne of options/strings from the one line that the make was trying to run - hence
making it small enough for the shell (?) to work with.
Also I have absolutely no need for MySQL, so getting rid of it makes me even happier.
This has not been tested in production yet - I simply note that doing this enabled me to complete
the make process. Caveat emptor. (and if you need MySQL then this obviously is not for you - but
perhaps this will give you some ideas)
