The problem with get_meta_tags only returning the last occurence of a tag with the same name is not a minor one. If you are creating metatags for a number of different languages you should follow the W3C guidelines and specify the language used in the tags. If get_meta_tags only returns the final occurence and totally ignores the language attribute then it isn't much use. The entire function should be reviewed and rewritten since it seems to be fairly intolerant of minor textual variations and, as noted, also has platform dependencies when it comes to line endings. Use regular expressions as an alternative and/or write your own get_meta_tags function.
