alrighty, here's my setup at home:
|---Windows laptops (2)
Internet ---- DSL Modem (static IP) ---- Gateway ---- Linux box
the problem i'm having is that reverse DNS is not working on the linux
box, specifically, the PHP function gethostbyaddr simply returns the IP
address, not the hostname. my /etc/resolv.conf file contains the DNS
servers for my ISP. see http://www.yankeesinthesouth.org/test.php (and
http://www.yankeesinthesouth.org/test.phps
for source). are there any other network options that need to be set to get reverse DNS
functioning?
the box can browse the web, etc just fine without any problems.
