As a newbie to the install process, I have a simple question that I have seen many others ask on
many PHP support sites, without an adequate answer. I am running PHP/Win2K/IIS. I installed PHP
using the InstallShield program months ago and just recently installed Microsoft SQL Server. I then
attempted to add MSSQL functionality by a) uncommenting the php_mssql.dll line in the php.ini file,
and b) assuring that the ntwdblib.dll was in the c:\windows\system32\ folder. The PHP manual says to
"compile" PHP using "--with-mssql[DIR]". But HOW do I do that? What file do I
edit to compile PHP? The site makes it sound like that is part of the installation process, plus or
minus a command line process. Could somebody please walk us ignorami through this?
