After installing libmcrypt you may need to do either of the following before installing mcrypt in
order for mcrypt to find the proper libraries:
# echo "/usr/local/lib/libmcrypt" >>/etc/ld.so.conf
# ldconfig
or
# export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
