If you get permsission errors using session_register(); on a Mac it's probably because your
using A: a custom php.in file and B: the directory set to capture session vars does not exist or
won't allow vars to be written to it.
To solve this, emacs your php.ini file from the terminal and search for session.save_path. Set the
value to a directory of your choice. (I created a session directory in /usr/local/lib/ and set the
value of session.save_path = /usr/local/lib/session/ ).
Make sure that the directory is set up to allow write permissions. Just run 'sudo chmod 777
your_directory_name' and that should set you up.
My configuration may vary from yours do to that fact that most OSX setups don't use a php.ini
file (i think).
