I hope this can help hours of investigation for people how doen't know how to do it:
To simulate a gif from a php3 file:
// create the image
$gif = ImageCreate(200,200);
$bg = ImageColorAllocate($gif,0,0,0);
$tx = ImageColorAllocate($gif,255,128,128);
ImageFilledRectangle($gif,0,0,200,200,$bg);
ImageString($gif,3,70,90,"it works !",$tx);
// send the image
header("content-type: image/gif");
ImageGif($gif);
That's all folks !!

Say I had some raw binary data from a jpeg stored in a php variable. I there any way that I can
create a php file that will simply output that data as a jpeg, much as image jpeg will do but
instead of using something returned by one of the image create functions just using the raw binary
data that I have stored in this php function.
