I had the problem that PHP couldn't use session_start(), because there was no such file or
directory.
It had to do with session.save_path = /tmp in the PHP.ini file.
I use Apache2, php4, and windows 2000.
I tried to change the path in every possible combination, like qouting, with/without drive letter,
forwardslashes/backwardslashes, and restarting the server every time. But it didn't help.
Then I copied an example from PHP.ini from the [directory] section, (include_path =
".;c:\php\includes").
I used this a the base for setting up the session.save_path = /tmp, only replacing the
'c:\php\includes' with 'c:\WINNT\Temp'.
I restarted the server and it worked, so if you got the same problem, try using
'session.save_path = ".;c:\WINNT\Temp"'
