The following function allows you to dynamically create a global variable from within a function:
function defineGlobalVariable( $variableName )
{
if( !isset( $GLOBALS[$variableName] ) )
$GLOBALS[$variableName] = null;
}
I know it's not good coding style, but sometimes it can be usefull :-)
