I solved the problem using two "while(odbc_fetch($result))", one for counting (on top of
the table) and the other to populate the table:

$result_count = odbc_exec($connection, $sql);
while (odbc_fetch_row($result_count))
{
$count++;
}
echo "Title";
if ($count)
{
echo "Total: <b>$count</b>.";
}
else
{
echo "No Records Found.";
}
---- populating: ----
$result = odbc_exec($connection, $sql);
while (odbc_fetch_row($result))
{
(...)
}
odbc_close ($connection);
