Hi Guys, I have faced following problem with php version 4.2.3 win32 under IIS 5 on Win 2K Server. SYSFOLDER = c:\winnt\system32 under win2k,nt SYSFOLDER = c:\windows\system under win 9x Steps for Installation 1) Copy php4isapi.dll under folder "SYSFOLDER" 2) Copy php.ini-recommended as "SYSFOLDER\php.ini" 3) Copy php_*.dll under "SYSFOLDER" only which you are going to use, for example put php_msql.dll under "SYSFOLDER" if you are going to use for mysql 4) Copy php4ts.dll under folder "SYSFOLDER" 5) Permissions , Select all php*.* files under "SYSFOLDER", give read and execute for IUSER_computername user. 6) Goto IIS MMC, in default website, click on Home Directory tab. Click on Configuration. Under App Mappings, click on Add. Add Executable as "SYSFOLDER\php4isapi.dll" , add extension for ".php", Check Script Engine. Do above same with extension ".php3" as well !!!! All 6 steps, and you have PHP in IIS working as ISAPI, ISAPI is better then CGI because once instance of CGI is an instance of executable file PHP.exe. It occupies lots of resources. On proper web servers it should never be configured as CGI, ISAPI is fast, safe, less resource intensive. Sometimes CGI fails to remove PHP.exe from memory, this will keep on creating more and more instances per page call and after sometime your computer will starve for memory. - Akash Kava NeuroSpeech -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.iis.php http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+31648 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+31648 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+31648
