There seems to be an upper limit on the size of file that can be opened - when trying to open a
ridiculously large file (~2.5gig) I got a 'file to large' error, and fopen returned false.
This doesn't seem to be documented anywhere and there's no obvious way to change the
limit. Obviously opening very large files isn't something you want to do very often but
it's worth keeping in mind.
