If register_globals is turned off PHP_AUTH_USER and PHP_AUTH_PW variables will not be set, instead
they are stored in $HTTP_SERVER_VARS array as $HTTP_SERVER_VARS['PHP_AUTH_USER'] and
HTTP_SERVER_VARS['PHP_AUTH_PW'].
