Have you tried your code in Mozilla? You should - it doesn't work ...
Here is how it goes:
1) when log-in window appears enter some user/pass
2) click logout
3) when log-in window appears cancel it
4) when "login failed" message appears, go Back
... you're logged again
(I am Mozilla 1.2 Wn32.)
