i am having huge probs with system() and the other similar functions. Here is the scenario... i have all files (PHP and c++ compiled files) in public_html directory. I make a php file with the following in it <?php system("ls"); ?> I have tried running programs instead of ls and tried other commands. The only things that work are echo blabla (as a unix command) or ls ~. I know for a fact when i run my compiled c++ program that it doesnt run it coz i made the program output a temp file for me to check whether system() is working or not. I simply get a white screen every time i try a command. Permissions are ok, i checked and if i ass echo "hello world"; then that is echoed so i know im running the right fiile. I am so so so frustrated, please help Thanks heaps BTW: also tried the rest, exect, shell_exec .etc all with no luck.
