<p>I had problems with php-3.0.12 installation on RedHat. Browsing through mailing lists, I saw that many people had the same problem, but no real solution was published, except for Sascha Schumann's message which pushed me in the correct direction. <p>If you have problems with ready-made libphp3.so not loading with error message saying something about undefined symbols like fstat or the like, your solution lies in editins your apxs perl script (which apxs). Load the script in your favourite editor, find a line starting with "my $CFG_LIBS_SHLIB" (sans quotes) and change the value to contain '-lc -lm -lcrypt -ldbm -ldb' <p>Check if you have appropriate dbm library - maybe you will have to specify '-lgdbm' instead of '-ldbm'
