Beware broken images! I spent two days stuck on this.
A script that registered variables into a session also contained broken image links (as I was
waiting image resources while I developed the script).
This caused either a failure to register the variables at session start or to retrieve them while
continuing the session.
I haven't worked out why this happens, but I presume it is something to do with server
generated 404 headers and cookie handling.
As soon as the images were in place hey presto! everything worked as expected.
