It is Extremely important, that you use the Files from the .ZIP archive and not from the Installer! put php4apache2.dll, php4ts.dll and your (edited) php.ini into your %windir%\system32 directory. When you edit your httpd.conf file, search for DirectoryIndex and make sure, that index.php appears somwhere in the line, if not, add it at the end of it. (usually: DirektoryIndex index.html index.html.var index.php). Then add LoadModule php4_module c:/php/sapi/php4apache2.dll AddType application/x-httpd-php .php to the end of httpd.conf (check for proper path configuration in LoadModule line). Look into your <directory "c:\htdocs"> (check for proper path) configuration block, make sure that Multiviews is NOT listed after Options All, otherwise everything you see, is the generated HTML code of your index.php, when you enter your directory (foosite.org) without requesting the index.php explicity (foosite.org/index.php) (This problem occur usually in Mozilla browsers, but i had the same problem with Lynx, so it's not a bug! IE Displays the files correctly, even if MultiViews is enabled... ("...huh?! Why the hell does IE show the file in MultiViews?!")) With this Setup, my Server runs OK, i don't have much Problems... but remember to use the ZIP file, an don't touch the installer!!!
