After a long time trying to get a select to work I found something that is not in the comments.
TWO_TASK environment variable must be set to the database alias in tnsnames.ora for it to work with
my setup.
RH 9.0 (Apache 2.0)
PHP 4.2.2 with SRPM recompiled with oci8 support
Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 client installed
