I am a relative newbie to UNIX systems and am trying to install PHP4.0.2 on a RedHat 6.2 system. RedHat initially installed PHP3 with Apache 1.3.12, so I have not bothered to download the source. Perhaps this is where I am going wrong? Basically, I have successfully compiled and installed jpeg-v6b and gd-1.8.3. I have run configure without errors. I get make errors, though when it gets to gd.c: gd.c: In function `php_if_imagecreatefromgif': gd.c:500: `gdImageCreateFromGif' undeclared (first use in this function) .. gd.c: In function `php_if_imagegif': gd.c:657: `gdImageGif' undeclared (first use in this function) Has anyone else experienced this and know of workarounds / fixes? Thanks http://www.php.net/manual/install-unix.php
