Re:Mac OS X support
This was very helpful, I was trying to compile Image support on Jaguar for a few months now (!) and
due to my ever-lacking experience in with *NIX/BSD style systems (especially OS X, which has
it's own oddities) I have thus far been unsuccessful.
One thing, however I'd like to ask: is it nessesary (or even possible) to compile and install
freetype1 along with freetype2, which the PHP documentation appears to say is nessesary to get the
--with-ttf directive working.
At the end of my PHP make, I get the following error:
ld: Unidentified symbols:
_FT_New_Face
make: *** [libs/libphp2.bundle] Error 1
I read the note about compiling libjpeg and freetype as shared, not static, libraries and I'm
going to see if that is my problem.
If I get this all worked out I promise to write an article on phpmac.com so you don't have to
listen to all the Mac people who are new at this anymore ;-)
