Multiple querys separated by ; will not always work.
The following query does not work if passed on to mysql_query as a single string.
CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE tmp (field1 INT(11) NOT NULL); LOCK TABLES sometable READ ; .....
It fails on the LOCK TABLES part.
You will need to do each query in a separate string in order to get them to work.
UNLOCK TABLES has the same problem and possibly others too.
