note 32386 added to install.apache

The following link was a big help, I am sure it will save you a few hours of headaches http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/php/2003/03/27/php_gd.html If you want jpeg support do the following: Download the jpeg source, link in the above url location untar and do a ./configure --enable-shared --enable-static --prefix=/usr make make install and then build/compile php with gd support. It worked for me.
