OK; so unfortunately session_start(), which must be used whenever we want to have access to session
variables, sends headers back to the browser even when all we want to do is read the variables and
not change or create any. There's a different function, session_readonly(), which from what the
documentation says would let us read the session vars without sending any output to the browser (and
thus eliminating the need for ob_start() and other such hacks). Butbutbut: session_readonly()
doesn't work (for me)! Has anyone been able to use it?
