I just want to say (maybe you already know
it), that, with imagetruecolor you get a black image until you set a background color filling it
with a rectangle...
I don't know if it's the right way to do, it's the only way I got it working. With
normal images it wasn't necessary to do so, but merging different images gave very ugly
results.
