Magic quotes is the *worst feature ever*. There's no way to turn it off (ini_set doesn't
work on it) and it makes you write a lot of extra code in the interest of portability. In addition,
it keeps people who use PHP ignorant about what's really going on. Their code may work but they
don't know why.
I'm just annoyed that it makes me go through SO much extra effort for this little, ill-thought
out feature.
