for the last poster who was having trouble with PATH_INFO when running as a CGI, change your
configure statement to '--enable-discard-path' and then PHP will not try to fopen whatever
the PATH_INFO is. The reason it crashes is because nothing exists on disk at $PATH_INFO and the cgi
is trying to open it.
