I found that building php-4.3.2 fails when you have imap c-client installed. To fix:
mv /usr/include/unix.h /usr/include/unix.h.bak
<do your php configure & build>
mv /usr/include/unix.h.bak /usr/include/unix.h
Be sure to rename the file *BEFORE* you configure, or the build will still try to include it.
