the following line is executed when a user succesfully logs in:
setcookie("loginid", $ligne->id, 0, '/', '.mysite.com', 0);
later on, somefile.php is opened.

echo($loginid); //PRINTS THE NUMBER SET IN THE COOKIE
include('/include/footerinc.php');

echo($loginid); //EMPTY OUTPUT
echo($_COOKIE['loginid']); //EMPTY OUTPUT
echo($GLOBALS['loginid']); //EMPTY OUTPUT
echo($HTTP_COOKIE_VARS['loginid']); //EMPTY OUTPUT

the variabele $loginid seems unretrievable from the included file! (please help!)
