I can't reproduce this using recent versions of PHP 3 or PHP 4. What
version are you using?
Also, this note has been deleted. The errata notes system isn't the
place to ask questions. You'll typically get much faster responses by
posting them to the PHP mailing list at php-general@lists.php.net. The
manual errata system is intended for submissions of text to be
included in the manual, not as a question-and-answer forum. Nobody
really reads the manual errata looking for questions to answer,
whereas the list is read by thousands. :) Please make sure to read the
instructions at http://www.php.net/manual/add-note.php before
adding
another note.
