note 25924 deleted from function.extract by sniper

I just came to find this out -- about extract not overwriting a variable from the previous loop if the new loop value is NULL -- at an inopportune time. I would like to know what version this changed, however ... Because I was running on 4.0.6 (I believe) - and extract worked as I expected ... and then I switched to a server with 4.1.2, and extract did not overwrite the value. I'm curious why this was changed. It seems like the previous method is better, or maybe I was just used to it. But now I have to unset all the variables at the end of each loop.
