I just upgraded to php5 on Apache/2.0.44 (Win32) XPpro
very important --like golloza and 12oot at msn dot com said:
in addition to following the instructions add "iconv.dll"
and change
LoadModule php4_module c:/pathto/php/sapi/php4apache2.dll
to
LoadModule php5_module c:/pathto/php/sapi/php4apache2.dll
