I've been asked so many times - it has to be online:
When repalcing a string for a later use with JavaScript document.write use these:
str_repalce("\"", "\\\"", $str)
str_repalce("\'", "\\\'", $str)
str_repalce("\\", "\\\\", $str)
this will add \ before the otherwise problematic ", ', \
