The problem with the shown function ibase_num_rows() is that after using it you'll have to
launch again the query:
$query=ibase_query($sql);
in order to use the result. For example:
$query=ibase_query($sql);
$num_rows=ibase_num_rows($query);
$query=ibase_query($sql);
while($row=ibase_fetch_row($query)){
....
}
