Hi richard,
you used a rather complex way to display EURO's.
Give following lines a try:
$amount='300000';
echo = "€ ".number_format($amount, 0, '', '.');
This will result in the same output you wanted to get. Note that the decimal point is empty and the
number of decimals is zero. Therefore you wont get any decimals and no decimal point at all.
