There seems to be a problem with PHP reading the tnsnames.ora file even when the tns_admin and
oracle home enviroments are set
If you get an ORA-12154 error but can connect to the database via sql plus then all you need to do
is to copy the values from your tnsnames.ora file into a variable and use that as the database like
this
$db = " (DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ORCL))
)";
$c1 = ocilogon("test","test",$db);
and this will allow you to access the database
If anybody knows how to get php to read the tnsnames file , I would be gratefull if you could inform
us
