I was trying to use this function on a linux machine that has an Windows NTFS share mounted. It
doesn't appear to take the security settings of the share into account as the share can have
Full Access set in the Permission, but can still be denied writing in the Security settings, and
is_writable will still return true, I had to use touch instead. Something to bear in mind if you
using NTFS shares.
