Lately, I've been been writing some pretty complex operations for the display of calendar
events. I've found to get the count of days in a given month/year, use the date function in
addition to cal_days_in_month.
$currentdate = date("m-Y");
$test_date = explode("-", "$currentdate");
$days_in_this_month = cal_days_in_month (0, $test_date[0], $test_date[1]);
