note 35045 added to function.setcookie

Some times you sets a simple cookie setcookie(name,$value) this creates on Win 98 IE 6.0 a file names for example, machinename@domain.com(1).txt then when you try to set the cookie on Windows XP IE 6.0 ther is no file created, however if your read for the cookie you get the value.
