I just had problems with "ftpbuf 0" errors, and searched for an answer all over the net.
It turned out that the file I was reading the IP address from contained a newline (\n) after the IP
address, so this messed things up. I only noticed it after echoing the ip address in quotes as a
debug - I could see a space after the last digit, this space turned out to be a newline. Hope this
helps others before they spend too long trying to figure out ftpbuf errors and thinking the cause is
hostnames, etc.
