Note that there is an error in the documentation:
"CURL_SSL_VERIFYPEER: Pass a long that is set to a zero value to stop curl...."
The option CURL_SSL_VERIFYPEER is non-existant.
It should be:
CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER
